Healing Horses
Working with awareness, gentle movement and meditation type practises have many benefits to our own well-being including improving general health and alleviating common physical symptoms (pains, aches and stiffness). Benefits on a deeper level include an ongoing self development practise encompassing the mind, body and spirit.
Jo is an experienced and comprehensive Qigong, T'ai Chi and movement teacher, an experienced massage therapist and healing practitioner, working with both people and horses! She has a pragmatic approach and will take you through all things posture, movement, awareness and breath related with the motivation of strengthening health, vitality for life and the relief from ageing, stiffness, pain and dis-ease. Jo is able to facilitate the energetic and spiritual aspects of practise without being overly 'new-ageist'!
You may be looking for a class or workshop or one-to-one therapy session in or around the New Forest.

She brings with her an accomplished set of skills to the New Forest and is looking forward to meeting new people and exploring new areas within the Forest. Jo is continuing to explore venues and has existing links with Bisterne Village Hall just outside Ringwood.

If you have pain and tension that you are looking to work on and find relief, to move, work or play with more effectiveness then there will be much here that you might utilise. Jo can offer you a range of approaches that suits your individual needs; touch based therapies, non-touch based healing, posture and movement awareness work and/or internal energy development.
In whatever discipline you are developing that is dependant on using your body as a tuned instrument, a dancer, horse rider, archer, musician, etc you will find that the posture, breath and concentration is of paramount importance to your overall effectiveness. Avail yourself to useful body awareness lessons to improve in your own core skill set.
Some people are seeking to find health, to develop a core skill or to connect with themselves with increasing awareness. The mind (thoughts), body (posture & movement) and breath (life force & spirit) have an interrelationship that are inseparable.
The spine and its movement are fundamental to health and is one of the main focuses of attention; fluidity and movement coming from a centrally aligned individual. Jo works somatically; this basically means treating the whole organism as a diverse, self-healing and vibrant whole, over and above perceiving the body as a purely mechanical structure.
Working with, or through, energy can be a difficult concept to comprehend or understand. Through the practise of qigong or t'ai chi we can establish a thorough appreciation of mind, breath and body, to both become self aware and develop our energy skill and internal forces, either for self-healing or for healing others. Jo has her own well developed self-practise having studied this modality intensively for 15+ years.
